After years of effort by many, the General Assembly passed RI’s first comprehensive invasive plant law. Congratulations to everyone who helped make this happen. Before the law can come into full force, RIDEM needs to create invasive criteria, recognize a list of invasive plants, and finalize regulations. Thank you, BioBlitzers! 295 volunteer scientists attended the 27th RI BioBlitz, in Kingston, and found 1,095 species. Stay tuned to see how the species count changes as we get in final species lists from the specialists.
