The Rhode Island Natural History Survey began its life by planning conferences. Since 1993, RINHS conferences have provided a forum for scientists, policy-makers, land managers, conservationists, amateur naturalists, educators, students, and interested citizens to discuss key issues related to the state’s biota and habitats.
RINHS conferences are widely regarded for assembling a broad spectrum of people and as an excellent venue for researchers and organizations to showcase what they do in a collegial atmosphere. The conference has also been a good career-building opportunity for students from high school to graduate levels.
