Rhode Island BioBlitz Orientation and Social

Roger Williams Park, Providence, site of the 2000 and 2019 RI BioBlitzes.

Join us on Thursday, April 25, at 5:30 at Roger Williams Park Zoo, for the annual pre-BioBlitz orientation and social.

The orientation is an indoor, evening program for anyone and everyone interested in the Rhode Island BioBlitz. If you’re interested in the idea of BioBlitz but don’t really know what to expect or how to go about participating, this is the best chance to meet other beginners, meet seasoned veterans, hear presentations about BioBlitz, and generally socialize with others who share your interests.

This year RI BioBlitz is going to at Roger Williams Park in Providence, May 31 and June 1. This is special because, in addition to it being the 25th anniversary of the Rhode Island Natural History Survye, it is also the 20th anniversary of the first Rhode Island BioBlitz, held at Roger Williams Park in 2000. Also, this 20th anniversary will be the first time we’ve gone back to re-study a site.

Free and with free pizza and cookies but RSVP is required. Registration for the orientation opens April 8. Contact RINHS for more information.
