2019 Moth Mingle

2018 Moth Night

Join us for a night observing nocturnal insects with a focus on moths. We will walk around various lights and baits to see what we can coax out of the darkness. There should be dozens of species of moth, beetle, and fly, with a salting of spiders and wasps, too!

The host is the Blackstone River Watershed Council and we will be at their Environmental Center, 100 New River Road, Lincoln, RI. The program begins at 8 p.m. and goes until we get tired…11 p.m. at least. Free, family friendly, and open to the public. RSVP is required, however, to 401-874-5800 or programadmin@rinhs.org.

Bring a flashlight and insect repellent. Close-toed shoes, and long pants are also recommended.

Citizen Science Exploration is a free monthly excursion sponsored by the Natural History Survey to learn about valuable environmental science projects being undertaken by volunteers from our own community. Try out a few and see whether there’s a project YOU’D like to join.
